Dr. Russell Allen Wright, Sr., D.Min. always dreamed of being a Lisenced Funeral Director and Embalmer. In 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida at the Funeral of his Maternal Grandmother. He saw the Dignity and Professionalism of the late Mrs. Alyce J. Caesar of Caesar & Chestnut Funeral Home, Direct his grandmother's funeral. Mrs. Caesar was a close family friend. And at only 6 years old he told his Parents he wanted to be a Mortician. As a child he arranged and conducted all of the Pet Funerals in his neighborhood. two of his older Sisters and their Friends would attend all the Pet Funerals encouraging the "Baby" as he was affectionally called. His Parents encouraged Academic attainment in all of their Children. And even though they did not live to see him enter the Ministry or realize his dream of becoming a Mortician. He remembers their constant encouragment, and this has been the driving force behind his motivation. Russell Allen Wright, Sr. Served his internship under the watchful eye of late Mr. Charles T. Hall, Sr.,Owner and L.F.D.I.C. of Charles T. Hall, Sr. Funeral Home of Live Oak, Florida. Mr. Hall and his wife Louise were also close family friends. After Russell Allen Wright, Sr. had worked for several Funeral Homes in the State of Florida. The first Russell A. Wright, Sr. Mortuary was established in September 2000, it was located at 2602 W. 11th Street in Panama City, Florida. Russell Allen Wright, Sr. Mortuary relocated to a larger and more visible location at 1547 Lisenby Avenue Panama City, Florida in 2010. Russell Allen Wright, Sr. has worked in the Mortuary Profession since childhood. Russell Allen Wright, Sr. began his education in Mortuary at Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, Atlanta, Georgia. He earned a Associate Of Applied Science in Mortuary Science from Bishop State College, Mobile Alabama. He also earned the B.A. Degree in Religion and Philosophy from Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, FL., and the Master Of Divinity Degree. with a concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburgh, Indana. Viriginia University Of Lynchburg confered the Doctoral Degree to Russell Allen Wright, Sr. in August of 2014. He has also been a Minister since he was 16 years old. And became Pastor of his first Church at 17 years old. We also offer pre-need counseling and after-care counseling and referrels. Dr. Russell Allen Wright, Sr. was appointed as the National Chaplain of the National Morticians Association, at the National Convention in 2015, By President Alexander C. Wynn, III. We provide notary services at no charge. Our charges are within the means of every family we serve. Russell Allen Wright, Sr. is married to Mrs. Marcus L. Wright a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, completed her Mortuary Science Education in May 2017. She is now a Licensed Intern Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Florida.
